Description:
I offer an informal learning atmosphere. Activities include story time, music, free art, and a variety of child directed play. I provide the tools and the kids decide how to use them, with my supervision. I use My Animal Alphabet with the kids to help them learn letter sounds/visual recognition through music. The playroom is where most of the action takes place and when the weather permits, we spend alot of time outside in a fenced in yard with sandbox, slides, climbing structures and space to run.
Children start arriving at 7:30 and breakfast/morning snack is offered between 8:00 - 9:00. The morning activities vary according to the moods/interests of the children. Lunch is offered between 11:00 - 12:00, followed by rest time. All children are required to lay down during this time. Each child has their own pillow and blanket, which I provide and each child rests on a cot, mat or in a crib, depending on their age.
Rest time is followed by a snack and playtime.
I have been a licensed famiy child care provider since 1984. I attend many early childhood workshops throughout the year, to always be learning ways to work and play with the kids..
