Description:
I currently have a summer opening. Feel free to email about any openings and things change and I do have a wait list.
A little about my program
I run a preschool program for my children. We are using Hooked on Phonics as our base. The children not only learn curriculum but how to sit and take turns. Things needed when they go to kindergarten.
I provide a warm, clean, spacious inside and out and most important a caring environment for children in my care. I am attentive and responsive with the children. I have appropriate age toys both inside and out. I enjoy helping them play games, whether it is with blocks,dolls or just to sit and have them tell me a story. I like to plan different activities for the appropriate age of the children. It is fun and rewarding to see them start a project, apply themselves, and finish the project all excited to show their parents. I provide healthy and nutrition meals and snacks. Things like homemade whole wheat (state fair blue ribbon) bread, veggies from the garden, over all wholesome foods.
Key to success for both parents and I, is communication. I want parents to know what their child has been up to not just the negative but the beneficial, and favorable. This needs to go both ways. If a parents has a concern tell me, if a parent has a praise tell me.
I am a mandated child abuse report by law. Please communicate with me bruises, cuts, scratches or anything else just to keep me in the loop of your childs well being.
I want parents to be involved in all aspect of their childrens lives. I strive to build a strong and positive relationship with both the parents and the children in my charge.
I have a written contract with the rules and regulations needed to attend my childcare/pre-school. This is my business; this is how I make my income. Children and parents are my clients. I provide a service and in turn am paid on time and the proper amount.
I have received my Preschool Teacher certificate and continuing my education towards my BA in early child education as well as a teaching credential.
I am continuously keeping up to date on current childcare information. I have a huge support system from my contact at Social Services, to phone lists as well as email list and Internet forums. I continuously stay informed with provider information.
I am licensed by the state of California. I have finished all the required classes, 15 hours of CPR, 1st Aid and Health and Safety, FBI back ground check for both my husband and I, finger printed with the state. My house was inspected by Social Services to make sure there was nothing harmful or hazardous to children. I have met all state and local licensing requirements.
My pre-school is set around each child. I have a schedule set but if a child is enjoying their time with paints I will let them be until they want to move on to something else. I feel children need to play at something until they are ready to change. This helps stimulate their minds not just for fun but for growth, understanding and learning about things in their environment.
