Description:
My name is Tasia Stone. I have been running my own childcare for three years in the Sacramento area. My husband and I recently moved our family to Rocklin and I cannot wait to get started again. I am a wife and a mother of four boys, ages, 11, 7, 4, and infant. That’s right…I am totally outnumbered! I love caring for children. Small children are full of life, boundless in their energy, in their desire to learn, and endearing in their innocence. They challenge me, they make me think, and most of all they make me laugh. I take great satisfaction in being part of raising a child. I believe that each interaction with a child is an opportunity; a conflict is an opportunity to teach negotiation and listening; an injury to another child is a chance to practice empathy; mealtime is a chance for conversation and manners; strengths are to build upon; weaknesses are to be learned from and to grow beyond. Every person regardless of age deserves to be treated with respect. As I treat the children respectfully, I also expect respect from them. Each of us has unique strengths and particular needs. Each child will have something to offer the group in my home. Each of us has something to gain from the company of others. Young children thrive in a stable and predictable environment. So while I strive to remain flexible to each one’s varying needs each day, our days will follow a consistent pattern. I am part of the team that works to make sure your child develops happily and fully. Caring for children can be joyful, exhilarating, and at times, challenging! Childcare, at all times, is incredibly significant, valuable and worthwhile! All activities are based on a weekly theme. Circle time and various monthly storybook activities provide practice in language and listening skills. Numbers, letters, shapes and colors are introduced monthly and are integrated throughout the activities. Scientific experiments and observation methods are introduced through simple hands-on activities such as a sink-or-float experiment and planting seeds. Rhyming exercises, cutting, pasting, painting and beading are sensory experiences used to promote growth. Self-expression and creative movement are achieved through music, song and dance while encouraging group interaction, cooperation and sharing. |
