Description:
Welcome to the Play House! My infant, toddler, and preschool program has been created within a family home environment. On a daily basis we enjoy art, music, gardening, circle time, outdoor play, yoga, and nature walks. I serve healthy meals and snacks, use positive discipline techniques (re-direction and positive reinforcement), and encourage parent involvement. I provide a seperate area for infants in order to keep them safe from older children at play. I teach preschool concepts based on the children's interests and the natural learning environment. I do not transport children and have chosen to limit my program to a maximun of six children. My experience with children includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, more than 15 units of Early Childhood Education, and seven years experience working with Family Child Care providers and families. As a Program Specialist II for Child Care Resource and Referral I helped families gain access to high quality child care, assessed family child care environments based on accreditation standards, and conducted workshops for the child care community. Topics I provided training on included Health and Safety, Child Abuse, Learning Environments, Professional Business Practices and many more. I continue my own professional growth by attending trainings offered by the Placer County Office of Education, California Preschool Instructional Network, UC Davis Extension Program, and First 5 of California.
